1. About us and these terms

These terms and conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and blog at aardwolfsecurity.com. Please read them carefully. By using our website, you confirm that you accept these Terms and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree, please do not use our website.

These Terms apply to your use of the website only. Our cybersecurity services, including penetration testing, OSINT and security assessments, are provided to clients under separate terms agreed for each engagement. Nothing on this website forms part of those services or amounts to a binding offer to provide them.

2. Accessing our website

Our website is made available free of charge. We do not guarantee that the website, or any content on it, will always be available or be uninterrupted. We may suspend, withdraw or restrict the availability of all or any part of the website for business and operational reasons.

You are responsible for making all arrangements necessary to access our website, and for ensuring that anyone who accesses it through your internet connection is aware of these Terms and complies with them.

3. Our content is not professional advice

The content on our website and blog is provided for general information only. It does not constitute professional, security or other advice on which you should rely, and it is not tailored to your circumstances or to any particular system or organisation.

Although we make reasonable efforts to keep our content up to date, we make no representations, warranties or guarantees, whether express or implied, that it is accurate, complete or current. Before taking, or refraining from, any action on the basis of content on our website, you should obtain appropriate professional or specialist advice. If you would like a security assessment of your own systems, please contact us to discuss an engagement.

4. Intellectual property rights

We are the owner or licensee of all intellectual property rights in our website and in the material published on it, including our blog articles. These works are protected by copyright and other laws.

You may view and print extracts of our content for your own personal, non-commercial use. You must not use any part of the content for commercial purposes without a licence from us, you must not modify the materials, and you must not remove any copyright or other proprietary notices. Where you share or quote a blog article, please attribute it to Aardwolf Security and link to the original.

5. Prohibited uses

You may use our website only for lawful purposes. You must not:

use our website in any way that breaches any applicable law or regulation, or that is fraudulent or has any fraudulent purpose or effect; introduce any malicious or technologically harmful material, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to our website, the server on which it is stored, or any server, computer or database connected to it; carry out any security testing, scanning, probing or vulnerability assessment of our website or infrastructure without our prior written permission; scrape, harvest or systematically extract data from the website, or use any automated means to access it in a way that disrupts or imposes an unreasonable load on it; or use the website in any way that damages, disables or impairs it, or interferes with any other person’s use of it.

We are a security company, and nothing on this website authorises you to test our systems. Any such testing without written permission is unauthorised and may be unlawful under the Computer Misuse Act 1990 and other legislation.

6. Blog comments and contributions

If commenting is enabled and you submit a comment or other contribution to our blog, you must ensure that it is accurate, genuinely held where it states an opinion, and complies with the law. Your contribution must not be defamatory, obscene, offensive, hateful or inflammatory, must not infringe any third party’s rights, must not promote unlawful activity, and must not impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity.

You remain responsible for any contribution you make and you warrant that it meets these standards. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, publish, moderate and remove your contribution in connection with the website. We may review, edit, refuse to publish or remove any contribution at our discretion, and we may disclose your identity to a third party where required to do so by law or where we consider it necessary to protect the rights of others.

7. Linking to our website

You may link to our home page, provided you do so in a way that is fair and lawful and does not damage our reputation or take advantage of it. You must not suggest any form of association, approval or endorsement on our part where none exists. We may withdraw linking permission at any time.

8. Third party links

Where our website contains links to other sites and resources provided by third parties, these links are provided for your information only. We have no control over the contents of those sites or resources and accept no responsibility for them or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.

9. Disclaimers

Our website is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all conditions, warranties and other terms that might otherwise be implied by statute, common law or otherwise. We do not warrant that the website will be secure, free from bugs or viruses, or free from errors or omissions, and you are responsible for configuring your own technology and protecting your own devices.

10. Our liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, our website, or your reliance on any content on it. In particular, we will not be liable for any loss of profits, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity, or for any indirect or consequential loss.

This section concerns your use of the website only. Our responsibilities in respect of any security services we provide to clients are set out in the separate terms agreed for those engagements.

11. Privacy

Your use of our website is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle the personal data we collect through the site. Please review it to understand our practices.

12. Changes to these terms

We may revise these Terms at any time by updating this page. The date at the top shows when they were last revised. Please check this page from time to time, as the version in force at the time you use the website applies to your use of it.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or your use of our website, are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
